OMV SAF Business Solutions “As a professional athlete, travel is a big part of my life. To make travelling to my tennis tournaments more sustainable, I have entered into a partnership with OMV. Through OMV’s newly developed and innovative SAF Business Solutions, I have found a way to reduce my carbon footprint via SAF certificates. Because every step matters on the path to a more sustainable future,” said Thiem.
As a longstanding partner to the aviation industry, OMV brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the emerging SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuels) market. The newly developed SAF Business Solutions are tailored to help organizations accomplish their Scope 3 emission reduction goals, such as those from air travel and/or the air transportation of goods. In cooperation with independent global organization RSB, OMV is piloting an innovative chain-of-custody model that allows OMV to reliably and verifiably transfer the environmental benefits of SAF in the form of SAF certificates.
OMV has been producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) at the Schwechat refinery in Austria since 2022 by co-processing sustainable and regional raw materials, in particular used cooking oil. SAF ensures a reduction in CO2 emissions of more than 80% compared to conventional kerosene.

Unser Ziel ist es, tausende von Hektar wunderschön blühender Blumenwiesen anzulegen, um neuen Lebensraum für Milliarden von Bienen zu schaffen. Die Biene ist für das Leben auf der Erde unersetzbar. Dieses beeindruckende Lebewesen symbolisiert, wie wichtig ein Umdenken in allen Teilen der Gesellschaft ist. Ein verantwortungsvoller Umgang mit den Ressourcen der Natur ist heute wichtiger denn je.
